First Week with Addison

(If pictures are not visible, click "x" at top right corner)

What a joy to have such a perfect angel come into our lives! We love her more and more every day. Here are a few (o.k., more than a few) pictures of what our last week has been like. Mom and baby Addison are feeling and doing better every day. We even had our 1st outing the past 2 days, just to get out of the house and to celebrate Addison's 1 week birthday! :) Happy 20th birthday to Aunt Courtney too! We miss you!

Here is a picture Ashley sent recently. It is both cousin's going home picture/outifts. Clay has on Kyle's going home outfit, and Addison has on the dress I came home from the hospital in. They are going to be big buds very soon!

If you still can't get enough of her (of course this is mainly for the grandparents and new aunts and uncles -- ha!) you can check out the website of the pictures taken of her at the hospital by the professional photographer . . .

Addison Phillips Brobst Arrives

Thought she would never arrive, but she finally made it with a little prolonged labor and surgical assistance. She was born on July 24th at 5:35 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz and was 20.5 inches long. Everyone is happy & healthy, and we will post again soon.

Still Waiting . . .

It's officially Addison's due date, and we are still sitting here "watching the pot boil":) & getting bigger every day! I was in "false labor" most of Thursday night and was certain that she'd be here by now . . . no luck. But as her Uncle Kyle says . . . she'll come when she wants to come because she's as stubborn as her mom! Ha! She already has a wonderful welcoming committee here in Chicago ready to meet her. Papa Bob, Nana Robin, Pop, Gee, Aunt Courtney, . . . and GrandP & Mama are starting their drive in the morning. We are very excited to have everyone here & just hope she decides to grace us with her presence very soon!

On another note, please pray for our family today and in the weeks to come as Bo's Uncle Charlie (Jan's brother and Eddie & Mike's father) passed away on Friday very unexpectedly. His funeral is today at 2 p.m. He was an amazing man who will be greatly missed. Your prayers for strength and peace at this time are very much appreciated. Also, please pray for safe travel for all who are making trips to and from Louisiana and Chicago as many of our family members will be on the road or in the air over the next few days and weeks. Thank you so much, and we look forward to posting a few hundred baby pictures very soon. :)

Any Day Now . . .

O.K., 14 days until the due date, and I'm not sure I can get any bigger! Ha! Bo and I are ready for her to get here! I can't go out in public anymore without getting comments about when I'm due, how my stomach "comes out of nowhere", and "you don't look pregnant from behind but then you turn around and OH MY GOSH!" I think Addison is going to fall in line with the Boothe genes when it comes to being a big baby!

We've received lots of great advice from others lately. Aunt Ashley made advice cards that people have written on to put in her baby book . . . I thought I'd share some to make you smile!

-- Just love her and pray a lot!
-- Baby will cry for food. (neighbor's daughter)
-- Bo, get ear plugs! (another neighbor's daughter)
-- Take time for each other.
-- Spoiling by grandparents is essential in a grandchild's life.
-- Don't stress the small stuff - it all works out as long as there's lots of love.
-- Ask your neighbors for help when you need a break.
-- Pray for her, take care of her, but above all -- trust her into God's care.
-- Never question each other's ability to be a Mom or Dad.

Feel free to comment and add to these! I'll put them in her baby book with the others. Hopefully our next post will bring great news and a beautiful first baby picture! Love you all, and thanks so much for your prayers and support.
