6 Weeks Old

Addison is 6 weeks old today! She is really starting to look around and interact more with Mommy & Daddy. She makes the cutest sounds and takes a long time waking up like her Mommy. Lots of stretching and moaning (as she is doing in the picture above)! As you can see from her chubby cheeks, she is still putting on some weight and growing very fast.

To update you on her health concerns, she had her 3rd blood draw this week yesterday. The actual draw went much better yesterday than it had on Fri. & Sat because Momma got mean! Ha! I told the nurse I didn't want to be rude, but she basically had ONE chance to stick her and that was it! She took a LONG time to find the vein and then got it on the first try! We were all much happier.
I just heard back from the pediatrician about the results. Her hemoglobin continues to drop and her protiens went up slightly but are still below normal. Her doctor feels that these levels are not alarming but something to continue to look at. She put her on a new vitamin and an iron supplement, and we will have another blood draw next week. We have an apt. on Sat. with the pediatrician again. She is considering referring us to a gastrointestinal doctor as a next step. However, I am encouraged because since I have been off dairy, she has had no blood in her diapers and seems to feel a little better. We are still waiting to see if her heart murmur & spot on her shoulder correct themselves. Please continue to pray for her health and that we do not even need to see any specialist (cardiologist or gastrointestinal).

UPDATE 9/6/08 -- Addison's apt. today went great! She has gained 6 oz. this week and had no blood in her stool! We will go again to get blood drawn next week and are praying her hemoglobin count is up. If it is not, we will get a referral to a GI specialist.

Fancy! :-)

Here are some pictures I had taken of Addison at 1 month as a surprise to Bo. She got all dressed up and slept through most of her photoshoot! Ha! We had her 1 month dr. apt. yesterday, and our little girl is now exactly 10 lbs. and has grown a whole inch since birth! Her doctor said she looks beautiful and healthy. However, Addison has a heart murmur the doctor hopes will correct itself by her 2 month apt. and a strawberry-like spot on her chest that will also hopefully correct itself by the time she is 2 years or so. We plan to consult a pediatric cardiologist soon who will investigate further. Please pray that in fact these 2 things will correct themselves, and that God will keep our little angel healthy and strong.

One Month Old!

Has it been a month already?! Time definitely flies when your having fun! We celebrated by spending the morning cuddling in bed (after the 1st 5 hour stretch of sleep last night) & the afternoon playing with Daddy. What a great day!

Addison -- Week 3

Addison has had a wonderful 3rd week of life! She has spent time with Gee, Papa, Nana, and Aunt Kristin. She has been kissed, hugged, swaddled, and cuddled more times than she can count in the past 7 days. She is starting to focus on objects, making eye contact, and responds to voices and sounds. We are having the time of our lives with her. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Love you all!
